About NW Interior Design
Laurane has been working in the interior design industry for 20 years, including several years designing for a bespoke kitchen company, where she gained valuable experience in joinery design and spatial planning. Now an established multidiscipline design practice, NW has evolved from the partnership of two friends who trained together; now run solely by Laurane and her team.
We provide a professional and personal design service. Our projects are individually tailored specifically for our client, the property and the environment and surroundings.
With a passion for design, we create inspiring timeless homes that look wonderful, feel comfortable, and work perfectly, for both now and the future. We believe that increased well-being and productivity come from well-designed spaces. Sustainability and fair trade are our mission for the future of interior design.
We have worked on all types of property from period listed houses to modern new-build homes, in town or country. Renovation and refurbishment of existing properties or working from plans on new build projects and property extensions.
Our wealth of experience and knowledge will guide and support our clients successfully and cost effectively through their project, with a network of trusted and skilled local artisans, specialists, and suppliers.
We offer a complete interior design service including in-house kitchen and bathroom design, spatial planning and furniture layouts, lighting design, joinery design, soft furnishing, and decorating, supplying furniture and accessories and project co-ordination. We pride ourselves on providing unique, bespoke furniture designs on many of our projects.
How we work with you
For building projects, we highly recommend that you involve us as early in the process as possible and definitely prior to any work starting. We are well versed in reading architects‘plans and we are often able to make valued changes to the interior layouts to improve the outcome of the finished project.
The process starts with an initial consultation where we take time to understand exactly the practical needs of our clients, how they live and their aspirations, and how they would like their home to feel. We ask, listen, and absorb, until we understand the scope of the project, taking reference from the property, architecture, surrounding environment, often existing art, antiques, and anything special that will be carried forward into the new schemes.
Concept
Creating a clear vision of style, look and feel for your home. This important initial stage will guide and inform the schemes and keep us on track and focused during the process, resulting in a cohesive flow room by room, throughout the home. To communicate our ideas, we use online mood boards, samples trays and floor plans to show the layout, furniture placement and flow of the spaces.
Developing the designs in detail
Once we have agreed the direction, the Brief is confirmed, and we can develop the ideas into workable schemes with detailed drawings, specifications, and costings to suit your budget. Sourcing at this stage takes a large part of the process, and where we tap into our extensive knowledge of trade products and services.
Bringing the scheme to life
Design communication and project co-ordination – detailed schedules of work, drawings and instructions are prepared for contractors to ensure correct implementation of our designs. We work to your timeframe, liaising with architects, builders and all other contractors and specialists. Procurement of FF&E - we take care of the ordering, storage, and installation for a seamless delivery of all items. If required, styling and dressing the rooms ready for our clients to enjoy.
